The size is large at 3,500 x 1,609 pixels per inch. png format so a transparent background makes it’s use as far as your imagination will allow….will easily re-size smaller if you need to.

I have no idea what’s gone wrong with my poor blog, I can only assume that the lovely lady who designed my blog for me has accidently re-sized the header, hence the reason for the mess up. Hey hunnies……so it’s been awhile since I was around, I had to return to work (outside of the home) & it’s taken up all my time & energy. I’ve been doing well….still not smoking….a whole year already & going strong.
I did close my blog to start with but then changed my mind & had it on invite only. Wasn’t anything personal, just an easier way to put it on hold without losing everything…..now I’m thinking that I’m ready to re-open it. I’m trying to check & fix any broken download links so if you come across any just drop me a line & I’ll get them fixed as soon as possible. (wishingonastarr@hotmail.co.uk) I’ve missed designing sooooo much. I wish I could return to it full time as before but the money isn’t enough to live on right now so obviously returning to full time work was my only option at the moment.

Good news is on the horizon with my daughter Charlotte (Hayden-Starr’s mummy) expecting a baby in April. Everything with the babies heart is fine, we have yet to find out the sex of the baby but we really don’t mind as long as everything turns out well this time…..Hayden-Starr is always on my mind, there isn’t a day goes by that I don’t think of him.

“About time too” I hear you say….I know it’s been a while since I brought you all something & I do apologise for that but my life just got a whole lot busier this past few months what with starting work & my sewing projects.

Okay…..these graphics have been tubed by me. The cot was designed & rendered in the DAZ programme. Each image is 1000 pixels on the largest side 300 ppi. You can resize the images back up to 3500 pixels if you wish to without losing quality. You can do as you please with these images……you’ll find 9 in the pack.

Sharing some more sewing projects I’ve completed.

I got my new sewing machine & Chris set me up with a cutting table/top which I can fit on my ironing board to cut out my fabric…..when I’m not using it I can hang it near the back door to keep out of the way…..I love my new sewing machine. This is the first computerised machine I’ve had. It’s brilliant…..Will tell me which foot to use when I change the stitch….even alerts me if I’m doing something wrong.

Here’s my work top…..this has proved so handy….Chris has even fitted a plastic tape measure along the front edge for me & stuck some edging at either end to prevent my fabric from sliding off…… I don’t have space to set up a sewing room so I tend to keep a part of the kitchen set aside for pattern/fabric cutting etc then I transfer to my front room for sewing….it’s looking very cluttered at the moment as I’m in the middle of working on a few things at once.

Here’s a cute little apron which I used fabby cotton fabric from Alexander Henry. This little number can be used for an apron around the house plus can double as a peg apron if wanted…..has a very handy large pocket in the front. Apron fits sizes 8 – 24 UK….I’ll be getting these on eBay over the next few weeks.

The pockets & back are edged with white ricrac & the front is edged with lace.

Disney Christmas themed bunting…..I’ve made 2 sizes for the flags on this bunting….one larger than the other & alternating the pattern as I went along. One large flag shows the Disney Christmas theme & the smaller flag compliments with a turquoise cotton flag embellished with a shabby heart (finished in pinking shears) The flags are all double sided (2 pieces of fabric sewn together) & look equally as good from either side. All united by adding to a continuous strip of bunting tape……cute huh? I’ve made 3 lots of these Christmas buntings.

Here’s another cute little apron….again using Alexander Henry fabric. Can you tell I’m a fan? I love this apron….very retro & very cute. Once again I’ve trimmed with ricrac on the back edging (black this time) & used a very cute black lace to edge the front side. I’m planning on making many more of these….I want to make some different styles as well.

These little aprons are so versatile….perfect for using as a peg bag but perfect too for using as an apron around the home…
More bunting….this time much plainer but just as gorgeous in it’s way as the Disney one I made.. Blue with thin black stripes/squares running through it…..double sided & stitched together……made to last a lifetime. Perfect for using within the home or outside in the garden for those summer parties…..I complete my bunting with double tape at each end to make tying up easier. I’ve made 3 lots of this bunting.

More aprons. I can’t recall the name of this first fabric….I’ve had it in my stash for a couple of years. I matched it up with some pastel green cotton fabric….I thought it went together so well. This time I’ve edged the backs with white ricrac & edged the pockets too. The fronts were completed with white lace edging.

Here we go again with a gorgeously pretty fabric by none other than Alexander Henry called “playtime” I’ve teamed this one up with a pretty pastel lilac cotton fabric. The children on this fabric are sooooo cute.

This is a Beatrix Potter themed fabric….Jemima puddle duck….Peter rabbit….etc

teamed with a pastel blue cotton fabric & again edged with white lace & ricrac.

I adore this bunting….this was the first project I started on a few weeks back. I’ve edged each double sided flag with lace plus decorated some of the plain flags with shabby hearts cut with pinking shears & then sewn on individually. I have this (identical) hanging at the window in my kitchen as does my daughter Charlotte……this would be perfect for using in a baby boys nursery or even for a shabby chic type wedding. I love that my bunting can wash & be used again & again….I’ve made 3 lots of this bunting.

Okaaaaaay! here’s my final project for today. More bunting….you do know don’t you that bunting is the in thing to have right now. Shabby chic is very in at the moment along with bunting for every room & occasion. This one is a Tinkerbelle fabric teamed with a white cotton for a perfect compliment…..again double sided & completed with a gorgeously pretty cotton lace edging. On this one I’ve made alternating sized flags & patterns. Can be used either side.

Just popping by to say “Hi”

Hey my lovely hunnies……Just calling by to say a quick hello & let you know I’ll be by pretty soon with a little pack of cream goodies for you which I’ve been getting tubed (extracted)
I had a few emails saying some of you were not able to get onto my blog….I don’t know what is going on with this thing lately but I do know that I’m not the only one having problems with blogger. Apparently some are getting the message that they need to be invited to use my blog…….At one time it was even showing that my blog had been deleted?????
From my computer everything was looking fine apart from my followers being un-viewable (see piccy below) & the map of visitors being all up the wall…..Everything seems to be back to normal now though….sorry for any messing about that you’ve had if any & a massive thank you to the lovely ladies alerting me to what’s been going on.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) I start my training to begin back at work. Yesterday I cycled the 10.4 miles there & back just to make sure I know the route properly & that I could do it plus time myself……it was a breeze. There’s a couple of hills but with a push I managed those as well….they’ll get easier. To be honest it didn’t even feel like it was anywhere near 10 miles. The cycling will be good for my health as I haven’t been on my bike apart from just once this year & I’ve missed it so. I’m really looking forward to upping my fitness level again. Since I don’t smoke anymore (yes I’m still smoke free) it was much easier to work my little legs. I swear cycling was much harder before. Good news as well as Chris also has a couple of interviews this week for starting a job…..will be back as soon as I’ve completed a couple more bits for the tube pack I’ve been working on for you all.

I cannot believe that a whole 2 weeks plus has passed since I last posted to my blog. Bad bad Funky!!!
I have no excuse apart from the fact that I’ve been very busy designing stuff to sew & doing lots around the home. My life is taking new turns & this year has brought about a whole load of healing for me……I’m on another journey….this time a spiritual one. I’ve done so much in my life. I’m not a rebel by any means but I’ve been to places & done things that haven’t always been good for me. I’m ready to make more changes now…..changes that will bring benefits not just to me but to my family as well. When I was 24 or there abouts (many moons ago :-0 ) I studied the bible with Jehovah’s witnesses…..even went to the kingdom hall for a while. After a while I gradually stopped attending. I moved house…..I carried on bringing up my children & life goes on doesn’t it…….I had so much I still had to learn. I’m ready now to give it all another try. It feels right now. I can’t believe we’re all on this planet by mistake or that there isn’t a higher being. I cannot believe that this is all there is & so I’m ready to commit myself properly this time. I guess in the back of my mind I always knew this day would come around & I’ve always believed what I learned all those years ago……the only religion that would cut it for me would be the witnesses. That’s the only one that ever made any sense as far as I was concerned…..the only one that had any answers that made sense.
Don’t panic…….I’m not going to be bashing ya’ll over the head with a bible each time I post to my blog *giggles*……I’ve shared my journey with you all over the past few years so it feels right to share this as well.

Our little garden is coming along so beautifully. The first photo shows a very sad little garden after the neglect rained down on it through the past few years..

Here it is after a couple of weeks care & love.

At first I wanted a fairy themed garden but now I’ve changed my mind & I want a wind in the willows themed garden….I’ve always loved the wind in the willows so this seems much more the right thing to go for. Now Chris has included a small brook to add even more character to the place. You can still see the black pond lining….that will be hidden when we get the plants & grass around the edges.
I’m loving the winding path Chris put in for me.

You can see the little green bridge there which goes across the stream.

It looks so pretty when the sun is shining. I love waking in the morning & starting my day off with a few minutes here before the hustle & bustle…..we still have a way to go before we get it how we want but at least we’ve made a start.

It’s official……I so love my kids

Aren’t families the very best when they all pull together…..I am SO proud of my children. They have witnessed me being (temporarily) knocked back on my dream of owning my own business & felt to a degree the disappointment I felt. The other day I posted how I’m going to be selling my hand crafted items online…..well, I was also sharing this with my children about how I will work to save the capital we need to get going with our brick & mortar shop. My daughter Charlotte asked how I was going to get started without any money past what we need to live on & I joked that I’m waiting for the money fairy to arrive with £100 so I can purchase some new fabric…..I do have a load of fabric already which I can use for some projects but I want to go more shabby chic & am lacking in that style of fabric. Straight away Charlotte jumped on the cause & donated the £100 I need. Then one by one my other children have all donated some money too bringing me up to £200 with a bit more pledged in another couple of weeks. *oooooh the glee*
I promptly ordered myself a gorgeous couple of books for inspiration. Hubby has sharpened my pinking shears which I’ve had for around 18 years & I’ve ordered myself a sparkly shiny new pair of dress makers scissors….can you tell how excited I am *smiles*

I’ve been shopping this morning for absolutely beautiful new shabby chic style fabric & I’m raring to go. Chris is going to order me a new sewing machine in a couple of weeks (his treat) I do have a sewing machine already but I’ve had it a while now & I’m not happy with the final stitch quality for professional crafting (although it works fine for personal projects) so we’ve done some research & found one with excellent reviews. Tomorrow I go shopping to re-stock my cottons. I can hardly wait to get going. The projects in these books are so damn gorgeous. Not suitable for beginners but perfect for seasoned crafters…..

I’m sorry I haven’t been uploading so much for you lately but still working very hard to get my house in order….things are starting to shine & glitter & it’s lovely to see….. Chris has been working overtime as well on the garden which is coming along just tickety boo…..can’t wait til it’s done then I can share some pictures…..he’s designed & installed an awesome water feature. I said I wanted a fairy garden & that’s what he’s working at doing for me……it’s so good to see plants & flowers flourishing once more in our little garden…..life is returning in our little corner of the globe & I’m happy for that…..more importantly my children are seeing their mum return (figuratively speaking) & they’re loving it.

A little while ago I posted how we were going to our bank to ask for a business loan so we could start up our own business. The bank have turned us down & with the recession still going full thunder we can’t get financial help from anywhere. At first we were gutted & took a couple of weeks to adjust our thinking while we got on with building at home & staying positive. My house & garden went downhill after my little guys death & spending near on 3 years in cyberspace & coming to terms with things, we were left with a load of things to get in order at home. We’ve worked overtime the past few weeks. We’re on the back of that now & ready to come out fighting once more. In order for us to one day see our goals come to fruition we will have to have at least half of the money we want the bank to loan us…..then they MAY match it. To do that I’m going to set up an eBay & Etsy store to start selling my hand crafted creations that I have planned to make. From there I’ll build & save…..if it takes us a couple of years then so be it.
Chris is preparing to take on gardening jobs/Pond building/fish tank maintenance & just about anything he can get right now to support us both.
We’re damned if this will beat us.
It’s not the way we planned to go toward getting our dream up & running but anyway we can get there is fine with us……if you have a dream…..keep holding on to that. Keep fighting to achieve it. Your brain is amazing & will start to open up ways in which you can go about doing what you really want to with your life.
Just NEVER NEVER NEVER give up.

Sharing some of my recent sewing projects.
I’ve been busy sewing all sorts of things lately. Rugs for my up & downstairs bathroom & toilet……..The beige one was made from left over corduroy fabric that I never got around to using for anything & the blue one was made from some stretchy blue & black fabric which I’ve also had stashed away for a while. These mats were a first time project for me & I came across some beautifully crafted ones on the web but I’ve kept mine simple until I get more adventurous with future ones.

I cut the fabric into long strips 2” wide then started to plait them using 3 strands. I then began to sew the mats together by hand winding the plaits round & round until the mats grew to the size I wanted. I then added some water proof backing & Hey presto! 2 fully functional soft & comfy mats to go.

Plus I designed & put together a couple of holders for spare toilet rolls. I tended to have lots of spare loo rolls hanging around in the upstairs bathroom & this has kept them all together in one neat little holder.

I love hanging my clothes out in the summer time to get that gorgeous fresh summer scent on them & used to keep my pegs in a little plastic bag which I would hide in a drawer until I put together this cute little peg apron the other day. I was really happy with the way this turned out.

It hangs up proudly on it’s own little hanger near the back door ready for wash day.

I must admit it’s good to be enjoying once again some of the things I used to like doing.

My eyes are clearing up at last…..I think it was a touch of conjunctivitis?????
Anyway I was too lazy to go & sit around at the Dr’s so I’ve been washing each eye with clear water every couple of hours & already there’s a massive improvement.
I couldn’t get an appointment until next Monday & the only other option was visiting the emergency clinic……did not fancy that idea at all…..I’d have been sat there for hours waiting to be seen, besides I felt that I could help myself without wasting the Dr’s time…..so far so good *Smiles*

I woke up Monday morning & noticed throughout the day that my left eye was really itching….that progressed to my right eye…..now I’m looking like I’ve gone a couple of rounds with Tyson. I don’t normally suffer from hay fever symptoms apart from the odd sneeze so I have no idea where this is from or what’s causing it. If my immune system hasn’t sorted it by tomorrow I think a Dr’s visit is in order……I can’t sit for too long at my computer as the irritation is driving me crazy…..I’ll be back as soon as I have it corrected. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that takes the time to vote for my blog & a special thanks too for all the lovely messages I get left. I don’t always have the time to reply but I do read every single comment & really do appreciate them…I haven’t had the time to tube anything the past few days as we’re laying new flooring on both the upper landings to our house. The house is quite large going up 3 flights so there’s a fair bit of work being done. I’ve also been crafting with my sewing machine & making a few handmade rugs for our bathroom & downstairs toilet. This is the first time I’ve SERIOUSLY started sewing again since my little guy died 3 years ago & I have to admit I’m loving every minute of it.

Update on my ex husband’s condition.
I have nothing but admiration for the staff at the intensive care unit here at St Thomas’s hospital. Just under 3 weeks ago we were all being prepped for my children to face the death of their father as he’d suffered 2 massive cardiac arrests & was left on a life support machine following the collapse of a lung. Today he’s out of the ICU & in the high dependency ward. He is acting very strange & seems to be in an era sometime past in his life. He has no short term memory & has maybe lost some long term memory as well. We’re told this is due to his sugar levels being low & his sodium levels being high…..he cannot eat or drink at the moment as he still has a hole in one of his lungs so he’s being intravenously fed. He’s coming out with some very strange things……some of them are quite funny but still a bit worrying as we’re still not completely sure whether he suffered any brain damage during CPR……only time will tell.

Hey everyone……I’m finally back on line after not having any internet connection for 2 weeks. I hope you’ve all been keeping well. To say I have had withdrawal symptoms is an understatement. I’ve missed sharing with you all so much……You’ll be pleased to know that I have a whole bunch of newly made packs of goodies to upload for you all which I’ll be doing as soon as…….I won’t waste any time in getting started so here’s the 1st of many packs coming your way. Right now I’m all tubed out.

As you’re maybe aware my ex had a cardiac arrest & was rushed to hospital here at St Thomas’s. He went on to have another arrest & was on a life support machine. One of his lungs collapsed on 2 occasions, he caught pneumonia & on more than one occasion we were called to the hospital as they believed he had less than 2 hours to live. He was in CPR for over 40 minutes after the 2nd cardiac arrest & we were told to expect major brain damage. Miraculously he is still hanging on. Brain damage is nil as far as the specialists can tell. After around 8 days they began bit by bit to take out the wires & tubes. I went up to visit him yesterday & he’s doing much better than he was. We’ve been warned that it’s still touch & go but he’s awake now & aware of who we are although he’s still un-able to talk at the moment. We’ve been told if he has another cardiac arrest they won’t be resuscitating him again. It’s been an emotional roller coaster for my children this past couple of weeks. My daughter Charlotte has prayed the whole time that he will pull through & the doctors are amazed he’s come this far.

Hey my hunnies……hoping everyone is well.
This week has taken a turn…..a MASSIVE turn in my life. My ex husband (who is living with cancer) had a heart attack. I won’t go into details about my past but we broke up in 1996 after a SOMETIMES turbulent marriage & to say the following years have always been rosy between him & myself would be a lie. We’ve managed to get along the best we could under the circumstances…..we have children together so you have to don’t you for the kids sake!
Anyway, back to the other day. He was rushed into hospital & placed on a life support machine. The outlook isn’t looking good. He went on to have another cardiac arrest & we’ve spent the past couple of days sitting in waiting areas & sleeping when we could around the ICU. When things like this happen & you see your children in emotional pain all the crap from the past becomes insignificant. He’s still hanging on with today being the most crucial. It’s taken this to finally make me be able to just let it all go….let all the negativity from the past leave my life. I’ve tried so hard over the years to drop the resentment but still it hung on. I have to let it go now…..it’s so un-productive. I feel free from everything that happened back then & find myself surprised that I’m actually rooting for the old sod to get better again. I don’t want to see my children hurt the way they’re hurting at the moment & I’m really hoping that their dad pulls through……no matter what’s gone before….it isn’t nice seeing anyone living in what may be their last moments.
I used to look back on our lives together & have memories of sad days…..now I find myself reflecting that it wasn’t ALL bad…..amazing how a change of heart can make things appear…..from now on I’m going to be much more positive in my choice of memories between us.

We went to view the shop today which we were hoping would be suitable for us to start off in but it’s a no go I’m afraid. There’s a whole lot of developing going on in our area & we could be asked to leave the premises within 2 years…that’s just stupid so we opted to pull out of that one. We have another property to view on Wednesday which we’re both optimistic about…..will keep you up to date.

Here’s a couple of photo’s from the gig that my youngest son Peter put on today at college with some of his friends. The photo’s aren’t perfect as my camera is playing up so we had to revert to our trusty phone for the snaps….I was a typical proud mum today watching him perform. :) It’s always good to see our children doing well but even better when we see the passion for what they do. All the students did so well in their performances…..the afternoon was great.

I am sooooo excited…..we met with the business advisor at the bank this morning & things are looking REALLY promising. We’ve seen another property which we view on Monday.
